The new little baby did not get her spay today. Vet ran the bloodwork on Scooter, found the poor thing had a rather low red blood cell count. Likely a result of malnourishment from the weeks before we took her in, combined with the fleas. So Scoot’s been rescheduled for next week, and put on vitamins & antibiotics to prevent any low-grade infections that might be caused by the poor diet.
Of course, that also explains why Scoot eats like a small horse.
We have found that canned tuna is an EXCELLENT bribe for a sulking cat. Especially when you mix said kitty’s medicines up in the tuna so she thinks she’s getting a treat.
