So yesterday, I was standing in the doorway of our computer room, talking to Brett, and turned to go grab both of us a cup of coffee…
…and ran full into the edge of the door.
Rather, my left foot ran full into the edge of the door. Foot, as in “little toe”, as in “curled up for 10 minutes on the floor trying not to scream”, as in “Brett hovering over me going ‘oh my god, is it broke?”, as in FUCKIN’ OUCH.
Man, I didn’t know skin COULD turn that color — deep angry reds at the point of impact, purples/blues/blacks about a quarter of the way up the left side of my foot and everywhere else on the toe. Remarkably, no swelling, no deformity — I don’t think it’s broken. I had my workplaces’ R.N. On Duty look at it, and she didn’t think it was broken either(though she did tape it up & tell me to watch for any swelling or change in the pain).
But DAMN, it hurts, still.
