So the upshot of this post…
Last night, Aritis (the healadin with a retadin alt) got me in-group, and pulled another Intrepid’er in, Ripping, a 16 year old who’d been on when me & Brett initially quit that guild.
At the time we quit, Rip freaked out over seeing us /gquit all our characters. We gave Rip a very, very basic reason (“We can’t stand Frost’s weirdness anymore”) and left it at that. We didn’t know the full extent of what was going on and didn’t want to stir up trouble with our friends or be troublemakers.
But last night, I told Rip the whole messed-up story (a cut-down version of the posts I made here on the matter), including how Frost pulled the “I love you I’ve always loved you” lines on me, Brett AND Aritis, and why Green was booted & the lies Frost told about his Kara ban. And Ari told him point-blank about Frost trying to get him and another guildie to “hook up” in real life for sex, and about Ama being “with” Frost & Shiri in real life (at which point, Ripping was going “That explains a lot…”). It took over an hour to lay it all out in chat.
I know Rip was only 16. I still made the decision that he was mature enough to know what was going on & the full reason we left (and Rip acted as mature as I’d judged him). When someone like Frostnova shows such poor social judgement (and sending virtual strangers lines like “I’ve always loved you” crosses that line so far, it’s in the next universe), it’s only a matter of time before the judgement slips in other matters.
The full upshot was that Intrepid lost Ripping, Aritis, and Katisan (a 70 level mage) last night, and all their alts, and Stormcrows gained 3 great new people. There may be more; Aritis also mentioned Drayk leaving if he did, and Ripping has RL friends in Intrepid that he was going to talk to. Aritis was also going to try to catch Rithien & her son (2 friends of me & Brett from a prior MMPORPG) on and explain the whole situation to them. Unfortunately, since Rith’s Aussie, her time online is usually well after I’ve gone to bed.
It’s going to be a total of 17 toons, both mains & alts, that are potentially leaving or have left Intrepid in the space of a couple days, many of those the Intrepid Kara runners.
There’s a part of me dreading logging on tonight. Frost is going to hit the ceiling when he sees that many folks have /gquit Intrepid, and I’m expecting him to create a level 1 toon just to start causing shit over chat.
Wonder how fast I’ll overload my ignore list?
