Second day of baking week…

Y’know, for someone who’s supposedly got a brain, one of these days I’m actually going to USE it.

So on a lark and in utter frustration, I googled “why the hell won’t my dough rise?”…and immediately got back about 10 websites that went into common problems with yeast…including the simplest “follow the instructions on the yeast package.”

Oh. Yeah. Instructions. Right. *mumble mumble mumble*

Okay. So the starting liquid was too cool and I didn’t knead the stupid dough long enough, that shouldn’t make any…

Oh. It did.

The funny part? The loaves with the dough that didn’t rise…taste just the same as the ones that DID. Go figure.
