I'm back in the hospital. Started having pain last Monday; didn't think much of it, was in usual spot for menstrual cramps. But Wednesday morning, woke up with escalating pain in same areas & No Signs of Menses forthcoming...and worse, high fever and racing heartbeat. Brett ran my ass into the ER; got admitted again. … Continue reading Yeah. It got worse.
*breathe*
Okay. So I had surgery June 30. Cap is out -- they had to remove a foot of intestine around it, because of all the scar tissue/adhesions that'd built up around it. Stupid thing was caught right at the juncture of small & large intestines, so the connector is gone, too. Good omen: the hospital … Continue reading *breathe*

The Zombie Apocalypse
FUN TIME! Ganked from John Kovalic, creator of Dork Tower: "Go look at your blog/journal. Find the last Fandom-related thing you posted. The characters in that post are now your team-mates in the Zombie Apocalypse. How f***ed are you?" Heh. The last "fandom" thing I posted was about Journey...um. So I'm pretty darn f***ed, though … Continue reading The Zombie Apocalypse
Damn you, Journey…
Damn you, Journey, you've done it to me again. I was in the hospital for the first time in 1983, the start of my senior year in high school. It was a horrible prolonged smack-down of intestinal surgery -- tubes everywhere, infection, multiple surgeries. I was in the hospital for a solid month; I couldn't … Continue reading Damn you, Journey…
STOP IT, just STOP
I'm getting really really sick of seeing cheesy photoshopped Steve Perry pics in my FB newsfeed that I can't block from folks who aren't even my friends. They're not art, they're not pretty, and they look like something you'd pick up at a funeral home. Jeezus, they're worse than velvet Elvises. Unfortunately, they're happening because … Continue reading STOP IT, just STOP
Proof that I CAN sneak up on a sleeping cat…
This is from about a week ago. I was exhausted; I'd taken Elizabeth Moon's "Kings of the North" and stretched out on the bed, started reading, and just fell asleep -- not due to the book, the book is AWESOME. I woke up a bit later to this: Me trying to *softly* call to Brett … Continue reading Proof that I CAN sneak up on a sleeping cat…
Surgery
Surgery's scheduled for Thursday. Thankfully, I get to stay home until day of surgery, so I can stock up on husband and cat cuddles beforehand.
no. it wasn’t.
the second procedure wasn't successful. They couldn't even get the scope past the first turn of the intestines due to the adhesions; the gastro said it was the worst he'd seen. i meet with a surgeon tomorrow morning. goddammit.
what a way to spend a birthday
nausea and in pain. jeez. whine whine whine. The second attempt to get the video capsule out of my system is on Thursday. The first attempt, all the scar-tissue/adhesions from the prior surgeries got in the way. They're going in from the top this time; hopefully it'll be better. Been trying a home remedy to … Continue reading what a way to spend a birthday
