From the "What part of Schadenfreude don't they understand?" Dept: Oblivious Texters Killed While Walking... Bad enough that the girl's this stupid, but kudos to her mom for that additional lump of insanity to top it: My Vote's with "Idiocy".
Month: July 2008
And so, it goes.
Good news: Brett passed his final medical coding exam and is now officially a CPC-A (Certified Professional Coder - Apprentice). Bad news: I find out Friday whether or not I get to keep my job. That second part, I'm not sure which side is the actual bad news: not keeping my job, or keeping it...
Food Photography FAIL:
From the "If you can't hire a real Food Photographer, FOR GODS SAKES DON'T TAKE THE PICTURE!!" Dept. Dear gods. You're trying to sell the food, not make me wonder who's intestines you used for the sandwich...
The Watchmen…
The Watchmen trailer Okay. I'll wave a hand and admit to slight comic-book geekdom here. I love certain graphic novels (Sandman, Bone, Elfquest, A Distant Soil, the original Ninja Turtles, etc). I tend to avoid the Superhero genre, save for a scant few (Frank Miller's original Dark Knight). I LOVED the Watchmen. I own the … Continue reading The Watchmen…

God’s not just an Iron, he’s Emo Phillips on Meth…
Ok. Here I sit, too jittery to sleep. Brett takes his final medical billing certification test tomorrow. When he passes, he'll be a fully certified medical coder, Apprentice. He's already had one job interview (which he turned down), and he's got a second interview Tuesday (without help from the school), with his school in process … Continue reading God’s not just an Iron, he’s Emo Phillips on Meth…
God is definitely an Iron, part two…
So...a couple months ago, I took the plunge and started doing Critters.org, a semi-professional online critique/writing workshop. Basically, it's a group of amateur-hoping-to-turn-pro & pro writers looking to get feedback on their writing in order to improve. I submitted a couple chapters of The Severed Earth through their queue, and got rather complimentary feedback (including … Continue reading God is definitely an Iron, part two…
